MEET CINNAMON
Cinnamon is a native of High Point, North Carolina, and a graduate of T. Wingate Andrews High School. She is the daughter of The Honorable William K.” Pete” Hunter, a retired Guilford County District Court Judge, and Dr. Pamela I. Hunter, a retired North Carolina A & T State University professor of Education. She has two brothers, Tab and Morgan Hunter, and currently resides in High Point. Cinnamon is a person who is willing to learn, to teach, and to work. She has a wealth of life experiences that have equipped her with the skills and versatility to perform a wide range of responsibilities and to successfully garner relationships with people from all backgrounds. While her experiences set her apart from others, it is her humility that truly allows her to connect with them. She is a hard worker who is not preoccupied with seeking the spotlight. As a leader, educator, family member, and friend, Cinnamon is adaptable, flexible, and dedicated to open communication, collaboration, and creating trust. In professional spaces and classrooms, at home and abroad, Cinnamon appreciates and respects the talents, traditions, and cultures of others, keeping her own accomplishments in perspective. While her education and travels abroad have proven to be invaluable experiences, she financed them by balancing two and three jobs at a time and earning numerous academic and merit-based scholarships. She has a strong, quiet faith, believes in setting goals, and taking baby steps to achieve them. Cinnamon began her career with the North Carolina Small Business and Development Technology Center (SBTDC), providing free, confidential counseling and educational services to small, mid-sized, and start-up businesses. She went on to work at Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts on the International Travel Industry team in Orlando, Florida. After 9/11, Cinnamon returned to North Carolina to teach K-12 Spanish with Guilford County Schools and later, became an assistant professor of Spanish at Bennett College, where she would write a grant proposal that allowed her to create and direct the College’s International Education and Global Studies Office. After earning her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Mannheim Business School in Germany, Cinnamon served as a professional tax preparer and an H & R Block office manager. Over the past 10 years, Cinnamon has worked as a licensed Broker-in-Charge (BIC) eligible REALTOR®, a Certified Military Relocation Professional (MRP®), a Short Sales & Foreclosure (SFR®) Resource, and a North Carolina Real Estate Commission Approved instructor. In addition to the MBA, Cinnamon holds a Master of Arts in Spanish Language and Culture from the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain, and degrees in Economics and Spanish from Spelman College and the University of North Carolina-Greensboro (UNCG), respectively. Throughout her career, Cinnamon has led teams, managed six-figure budgets, analyzed financial data, and ensured compliance in highly regulated environments. She has worked closely with individuals and families, educating and advising them, and discussing sensitive life and financial matters with unwavering ethics and confidentiality. Guided by a strong sense of fairness, professionalism, and service, Cinnamon is a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Humanitarian Award and has a long-standing record of civic involvement. As Guilford County’s Clerk of Superior Court, Cinnamon will be the chief administrative officer, ensuring its efficient daily operations and directing its strategic planning and management. Additionally, she will be responsible for the court’s recordkeeping, overseeing the jury selection process, and handling the court’s non-judicial operations. She will serve as a judicial official for the probate of wills and special proceedings—such as guardianships, adoptions, foreclosures, and name changes. Cinnamon is committed to serving impartially, safeguarding public records and funds, supporting the courts, and providing respectful, efficient service to every individual who enters the courthouse.
